AI Sketchbot: Watch a Robot Draw Your Portrait

Most photo booths are done in a flash. The AI Sketchbot is different: it’s part tech demo, part art show, and guests can’t look away. They step up, snap a photo, pick a fun prompt, and then watch a robotic arm draw their portrait right in front of them, one pen stroke at a time.

Watch Your Portrait Come to Life

How it works

1. Snap a photo.

Guests start at our iPad station, where they strike a pose and take a photo. Solo, with a friend or with a group, it’s up to them.

2. Pick a prompt.

Next comes the fun part. Guests pick a prompt that sets the scene for their portrait. They might become an astronaut, a rock star or a superhero, or appear in a scene that ties in with your event theme or brand. The AI combines the photo and the prompt and turns them into a one-of-a-kind line drawing made just for that guest.

3. Watch the robot draw.

This is where the magic happens. The design goes to one of our robotic arms, and the drawing begins. The arm holds a real marker and moves smoothly across a blank card. It lifts, glides to its next spot, sets the pen down and draws each line with steady precision. First the outline of the face appears, then the eyes and smile, then the hair, the clothes and finally the scene from the prompt. It works just like a sketch artist, only it never needs a break.

4. Take home a keepsake.

When the last line is drawn, the guest walks away with an original, hand-drawn portrait on a custom card. No two are ever the same.

A robotic pen plotter drawing a caricature on a Gensler and Edgethingy branded card.
Cartoon coloring page of a female police officer beside a photo of a smiling woman with curly hair.
Six cartoon character coloring pages displayed on a multi-monitor setup in an office setting.

A crowd magnet

The drawing process is the real show. Guests gather around the table to watch, cheer when a face takes shape, and laugh when they see which prompt their friend picked. With several robotic arms side by side, multiple portraits are drawn at once, which keeps the line moving and the energy high.

It’s also a natural conversation starter. People compare portraits, swap stories about their prompts and stay at the station long after their own sketch is done. Pair this with either Lune or our Glambot experience and you have a total party!

Made for your brand

Every portrait is drawn on a custom-designed card, so your logo, event name or hashtag is part of the keepsake. We can also create custom prompts that match your theme, product or company culture. Think “our team on a rocket ship” for a launch party, or the happy couple’s favorite place for a wedding.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the finished sketch look like?

Each portrait is a clean, hand-drawn line illustration in a fun, stylized look, somewhere between a classic caricature and a modern illustration. The AI captures the features that make each guest recognizable, like their hairstyle, glasses, smile and outfit, then adds the scene from their chosen prompt.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the portrait actually look like me?

Yes. The AI works from the photo each guest takes at the station, so the sketch is based on their real features. For the best likeness, we recommend good lighting, looking straight at the camera, and keeping hair and hands away from the face. Our attendant helps every guest get a great photo.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we create custom prompts?

Yes, and this is one of the most fun ways to make the experience your own. We can write prompts that match your theme, product or company culture. A tech company might feature its mascot or product, a launch party might put guests on a rocket ship, and a wedding might place the couple somewhere meaningful to them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we use different card designs at one event?

Yes. We can rotate several card designs, for example one per sponsor, team or brand, or use seasonal designs.

Do guests get a digital copy too?

After the event, we can share a gallery of every portrait drawn, which is great for recaps, social media and internal newsletters.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if a guest doesn’t love their sketch?

It rarely happens, but our attendant can help them retake their photo or pick a different prompt for a fresh drawing, as time allows.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does each portrait take?

About 5 minutes per portrait. With several robotic arms drawing side by side, multiple guests get portraits at the same time, so the line keeps moving.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it really drawn by hand, or printed?

It’s really drawn. The robotic arm holds a real marker and draws every line on the card, just like an artist would. Guests can see the ink up close, and no two portraits are ever exactly alike.

Perfect for

  • Corporate events and activations: a high-tech showpiece that pulls people to your booth and keeps them there
  • Tech conferences and trade shows: AI and robotics in action, right in the middle of the floor
  • Company parties and team celebrations: a personal gift for every guest
  • Weddings with a creative streak: a modern twist on the classic caricature artist

A keepsake guests will actually keep

Prints get lost and phone photos get buried. A hand-drawn portrait made by a robot just for you is the kind of thing that ends up framed on a desk or stuck to the fridge. And every time your guests see it, they’ll remember your event.
