Some places are more than a bar. They're where friendships start, where birthdays get celebrated, and where everyone seems to know your name. In Pleasanton, that place is the Sunshine Saloon, and we were so honored to be part of the party as Bob and Heather Rossi celebrated 45 years at the helm.

The story goes back to 1981, when Bob Rossi was looking for his next business opportunity and spotted an ad in the San Francisco Chronicle listing the saloon for sale. He and Heather, his girlfriend at the time and now his wife, took a look at the spot tucked into the Pleasanton Shopping Center, and the rest is Tri-Valley history. Over the years the 'Shine has evolved, and Bob started out running a fine dining steak and lobster establishment before it became the beloved sports bar and grill locals know today. According to the Pleasanton Weekly, it may be the longest-operating hospitality business in the city under the same ownership, rivaled only by Gay 90s Pizza. That is a legacy worth toasting!

The Cheers of Pleasanton

Ask anyone in town and they'll tell you the same thing: Sunshine Saloon is the Cheers of Pleasanton. It's the place for game days, trivia nights, and breakfast served all day. Bob's pride in the place shows too. After 45 years in the same location, he rests easy knowing he runs a quality business that treats both customers and employees well.

And this celebration? It was a true party. Bob threw a New Year's Eve-style bash complete with karaoke, a packed dance floor, and even a balloon drop that had everyone cheering!

Photo Booth Fun at the 45th Anniversary

Our photo booth was right there through it all, capturing hours of fun as regulars, longtime friends, and new faces crowded in for group shots, silly poses, and keepsake prints. Seeing generations of 'Shine fans squeeze into one frame together was a highlight of our night. For a celebration this bright, we knew exactly which backdrop to bring. Our Sunset backdrop is one of our most popular designs, and it has a special story behind it. It's a custom backdrop made from a photo I took of a sunset many years ago, and those soft pastel colors felt like the perfect match for a party called Sunshine. Add the "Sunshine on My Mind" sign, and every photo felt like it was made for the 'Shine. The sign wasn't ours but we can always customize one for your event!

We paired it with our Lune photo booth, which features a customizable LED light that can be set to complement the colors of any event. It gives every guest flattering, glowing light, whether they're posing solo, with a date, or with a group of six squeezed into one frame.

Guests lined up all night for group shots, silly poses, and keepsake prints to take home. From longtime regulars who've been coming to the 'Shine for decades to first-time visitors, everyone left with a memory of the night.

Here's to the Next 45 Years

Bob and Heather, thank you for inviting us to be part of such a special milestone. Here's to the next chapter and many more years of good times at the 'Shine!
